Two AI giants, one question: which is better for generating World Cup 2026 football art? We tested ChatGPT (DALL·E 3) and Google Gemini with identical prompts across six categories. Here are the results.
The Test Setup
We used the same prompts from our free library on both tools, keeping all variables identical — same country, same colors, same composition instructions. No cherry-picking: we used the first result from each tool.
Jersey Design Prompts
ChatGPT: Excellent fabric texture, realistic stitching and accurate badge placement. Handles complex patterns well. Occasionally struggles with sponsor logo placement.
Gemini: More vibrant colors and creative interpretations. Sometimes takes artistic liberties with the design brief. Better at unusual or experimental kit concepts.
Winner: ChatGPT — for photorealistic accuracy. Gemini for creative experimentation.
Panini Sticker Card Prompts
ChatGPT: Nails the classic Panini aesthetic — gold borders, correct card layout, holographic effects. Face consistency with uploaded photos is very good.
Gemini: More stylized results, sometimes straying from the traditional Panini format. Better at caricature-style cards.
Winner: ChatGPT — by a clear margin for authentic Panini-style results.
Player Portrait Prompts
ChatGPT: Outstanding photorealistic skin texture, lighting and facial detail. Excellent at preserving facial features from uploaded reference photos.
Gemini: Strong cinematic style but less consistent with reference photos. Excels at artistic and editorial-style portraits.
Winner: ChatGPT — for realism. Gemini for artistic style.
Stadium & Atmosphere Prompts
ChatGPT: Impressive wide-angle stadium renders with realistic crowd density. Good at capturing flare effects and dramatic lighting.
Gemini: More cinematic atmosphere, better color grading and more dramatic sky effects. Tends to produce more "epic" looking results.
Winner: Gemini — for atmosphere and cinematic quality.
Poster & Campaign Prompts
ChatGPT: Professional editorial quality, clean typography integration, consistent with brand aesthetics like Nike or Adidas campaigns.
Gemini: More creative and unexpected compositions. Sometimes produces genuinely surprising and original poster concepts.
Winner: Draw — depends on whether you want safe/professional or bold/creative.
Infographic & Prediction Prompts
ChatGPT: Cleaner layouts, more accurate text rendering, better at structured infographic formats like brackets and scoreboards.
Gemini: More visually dynamic but less precise with text and data layout. Better for decorative infographics than data-heavy ones.
Winner: ChatGPT — for structured data visualization.
